The surface of the work, “Don’t forget about me”, consists of a protective material in which clothes that my wife had ordered online were packed.

The wrapping material had the ideal transparency and properties to visualise an idea for a museum space and explore how to present my white monochrome reliefs.

Also the other materials (left behind by a colleague who had moved), including a few “Post-It Notes” in a yellow-green signal color, were in a box intended for the waste container.

In my research into the effect of light, transparency, space and presentation, a visual resemblance soon emerged with a painting by René Daniëls entitled “Memories of a forgetful one”.
“Don’t forget about me” became a new autonomous work that is not only a memory/tribute to an artist I had lost sight of for a while and still admire, but also refers to the reuse of materials, which instead of being wasted, received a new visual destination.
